Ruth Bernardez-Tan, MD
Dr. Ruth Bernardez-Tan obtained her degrees in Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Doctor of Medicine from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines. She completed her residency training in Pediatrics at the University of Florida Children’s Hospital at Sacred Heart in Pensacola, Florida, where she served as Chief Resident in her senior year. After residency, she worked at Los Barrios Unidos Community Clinic in Dallas, Texas for seven years and was the Medical Director prior to starting her own private practice in 2002. It is also at this clinic where she learned to speak Spanish, understand the Hispanic culture and worked with the underserved population. Dr. Bernardez-Tan is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is affiliated with the Medical Center of Arlington where she cares for newborn babies.
Dr. Bernardez-Tan lives in Arlington with her husband and two teenage children. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time and traveling with her family, shopping, watching sports and shuttling her children to their numerous activities.
Because of Dr. Bernardez-Tan’s dedication and commitment to the healthcare of children, her practice has grown to include two other clinics that are staffed by Practitioners who share her passion and love for Pediatrics.

Quanica Darden, DNP, PNP
Quanica Darden MSN, RN, PNP was born in Gary, Indiana. She is board certified as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse-Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in primary care (APRN-PNP-PC) through the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB). She is an active member of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPAP), DFW Greater Texas NAPNAP Chapter, where she serves as the 2018-2019-chapter president.
She has been an Advanced Practice Pediatric Nurse Practitioner since 2013, which she perused after 6 yrs experiences as a Registered Nurse. She is expanding her education and is currently enrolled at Texas Tech Lubbock, Texas perusing her Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP).
In Spring of 2013, she obtained her Advanced Practice of Nursing degree with a Masters of Science Nursing as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) from Grambling State University Grambling, LA. During her clinical education rotation, she worked in Primary Care Pediatrics, Rural underserves Pediatrics, Pediatric After Hours, and Adolescent & Young Adult University Infirmary clinic.
In Fall of 2007, she completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing as a Registered Nurse (RN) from Grambling State Univ. She worked as an RN for over 5 years at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe, Louisiana on Pediatric Med-Surg and frequently worked in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). During her years as a Pediatric Nurse she served as hospital floor charge nurse and preceptor to new hospital nurses and nursing students.
Although she does not have any children of her own yet, she has a great joy in working with children from newborn to young adults. She has an even greater passion for working with primary care adolescents as they transition into young adults. During her spare time, she enjoys traveling, spending time with family, socializing with friends over coffee, aiding in teaching practitioner students, using her gifts to give back to the community and being active in her church.
