Ruth Bernardez-Tan, MD
Dr. Ruth Bernardez-Tan obtained her degrees in Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Doctor of Medicine from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines. She completed her residency training in Pediatrics at the University of Florida Children’s Hospital at Sacred Heart in Pensacola, Florida, where she served as Chief Resident in her senior year. After residency, she worked at Los Barrios Unidos Community Clinic in Dallas, Texas for seven years and was the Medical Director prior to starting her own private practice in 2002. It is also at this clinic where she learned to speak Spanish, understand the Hispanic culture and worked with the underserved population. Dr. Bernardez-Tan is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is affiliated with the Medical Center of Arlington where she cares for newborn babies.
Dr. Bernardez-Tan lives in Arlington with her husband and two teenage children. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time and traveling with her family, shopping, watching sports and shuttling her children to their numerous activities.
Because of Dr. Bernardez-Tan’s dedication and commitment to the healthcare of children, her practice has grown to include two other clinics that are staffed by Practitioners who share her passion and love for Pediatrics.

Anne Bouele, MD
Born and raised in Cameroon, Dr. Bouele moved to the US and obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Benedict College in Columbia, South Carolina, and later on a medical degree from St Georges University, in Grenada West Indies. She finished her residency in Pediatrics at St Joseph Hospital in Paterson NJ, in 2009. After residency, she worked in a private practice in Anniston, Alabama and later on joined R.C.C. in 2013.
Dr. Bouele is certified by the American Board of pediatrics and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She is affiliated with the Medical Center of Arlington.
She lives in Arlington with her husband and 2 children. When she is not taking care of children, she enjoys traveling when possible, singing in her church choir, and spending time with family and friends.
She is very passionate about pediatrics, and loves to care for the little ones. She is very excited to join the Rainbow clinic family, and is looking forward to partner with you for the care of your child.

Mariam Saleem, MD
Dr. Saleem graduated from medical school in 2001 from Pakistan. She did her residency training in Pediatrics at Oklahoma University Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City, Ok. She is board certified in Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She worked in Rio Grande City for four years prior to joining R.C.C. She is affiliated with Medical Center of Arlington as attending physician in the newborn nursery.
She lives with her husband and two sons in Grand Prairie. Her hobbies are cooking, painting and reading.

Elizabeth Pena, PA-C
Elizabeth Pena, PA-C, is a Physician Assistant who was born and raised in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. She graduated from Bowie High school in Arlington and completed her undergraduate degree from Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas in May 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology.
She worked as a Physical/Occupational Assistant for over two years at Children’s Medical Center in Dallas. This is where her love for improving children’s health began. While working at the hospital she assisted in many departments including, the bone marrow and transplant unit, orthopedics and physical medicine and rehabilitation.
Upon her departure from the hospital, she went on to earn her Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies and graduated from the University of Pan American in Edinburg, Texas in December 2012. While in her clinical rotations, she did extensive training in Rural Pediatrics serving the surrounding local communities in the Rio Grande Valley.
She completed her formal training and is licensed by the Texas Medical Board and certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. She is a member of the Texas Academy of Physician Assistants and the American Academy of Physician Assistants.
Elizabeth has a passion for children of all ages and is grateful to be a part of improving and maintaining your child’s health. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, training for a marathon, traveling abroad, working with underprivileged children, volunteering at her church and spending time with her family and friends. She feels very blessed to be a part of your child’s life and health. She hopes to build a lasting friendship with each of you and privileged that you will entrust your child’s health in her hands.

QUANICA DARDEN, APRN, CPNP
Quanica Darden was born in Tuskegee, Alabama and reared in Gary, Indiana. Upon graduating High School she traveled to Grambling, Louisiana, where she accepted a Cheerleading and Ambassador Academic Scholarship to Grambling State University. In 2007, she completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing as a Registered Nurse ( RN).
She worked as an RN for 5 years at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe, Louisiana on Pediatric Med-Surg. She frequently worked in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit ( PICU), Neonatal Intensive Care Unit ( NICU), and Obstetric/Postpartum. During her years as a Pediatric Nurse, she had the role of a Charge Nurse, a preceptor to new graduate nurses and assisted in precepting students who did their clinical rotation on the Pediatric floor. In addition to working in a hospital setting, she also worked as a field RN in Pediatric Home Health.
Summer 2011, she enrolled in the Masters of Science Nursing and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner program at Grambling State University. During her pediatric clinical rotation she worked in Primary Care Pediatrics, Rural Pediatrics, Pediatric After Hours, and Adolescent & Young Adult University Infirmary clinic. After graduating in spring 2013, she moved to the Dallas Metroplex area where she also became board certified as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse- Pediatric Nurse Practitioner ( APRN-PNP) through the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board ( PNCB). She is an active member of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (NAPAP), Greater Texas NAPNAP Chapter, and North Texas Nurse Practitioner Organization.
Although she does not have any children of her own yet, she has a great joy in working with children from newborn to young adults. She has an even greater passion for working with primary care adolescents as they transition into young adults. During her spare time she enjoys traveling, writing poems, spending time with family, socializing with friends over coffee, aiding in teaching, and being active in her church, Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church of Dallas. She extends her welcome and looks forward to meeting you at Rainbow Children’s Clinic!
